Foodie Friday??

I know, I know, this should have been my second 'Foodie Friday' and I'm already slacking.  But after the week I've had I don't feel to bad.

It started with my sister, her daughter, youngest son and a friend of her daughters coming to visit while her husband was on a youth camping trip in Moab, Utah with their two oldest boys. They had only been here for about four hours when her oldest son called and said his brother, Jeremy, had just fallen off of a 40 foot cliff, she could hear him screaming in the background as his older brother tried to explain what had happened. After free falling the majority of the 40 feet he bounced a couple of times and went down a steep slope toward another drop off of about 100 feet. His dad got to him and stopped him from going over the second ledge. But Jeremy was unconscious and in seriously bad shape. The other leaders in their group called for help and got the other kids situated and then made their way down the difficult terrain to see what help they could offer. The whole time the father was pretty sure his son was gone. The men then said a prayer for him and within a few minutes he regained consciousness, but was obviously in a lot of pain. When the rangers arrived he had to be hiked out to where a life flight helicopter could land. At the hospital it was discovered that Jeremy didn't have any broken bones or internal injuries! He was released less than 24 hours after arriving with nothing more than a minor concussion. We are definitely thanking our Heavenly Father for this miracle. Rangers, Doctors and Nurses, along with the rest of us, are all amazed at how Jeremy came through this. Our family is feeling very lucky and blessed right now.
(This is a picture of Jeremy taken shortly before his fall.)

Between the time in which we learned about the fall and then found out that Jeremy would be okay there was a lot of stress and a lot of tears. My sister flew out the morning after his fall. This left me with three additional kids for a day and a half. Luckily they are three really great kids and once we learned that Jeremy was going to be okay we had a great time together.

After Jeremy was released from the hospital my sister flew back to Las Vegas to get her car and the kids. That night we decided that we should all go do something fun to see if we could relieve some of the stress from the last few days. So we went to see the Blue Man Group! It was definitely fun but man am I tired! :p

My sister and the kids drove back to Utah the next morning. I am so grateful that Jeremy is okay and I love my sister and her kids and her daughters friend was great (love her too!) But now I am exhausted. So when a friend called to invite us to Five Guys for burgers and Cajun fries I thought That sounds to much nicer then cooking a full meal :).

Many apologies. It will make something AMAZING next week!

Hey everyone,, wanna hear a miracle? ok. ;)
here I go.
okay, so im in vegas! while my 2 older brothers and dad are in moab for youth conference. while the boys were on a hike, my older brother jeremy fell 40 feet off of a cliff, and was unconcious and almost rolled off of a 100 foot cliff, luckily my dad stopped him! well, anyways, some of the people there gave him a blessing, and he woke up and... was taken to the hospital. we were all expecting to lose or something terrible to be wrong with him,he wasnt even there for 24 hours when he was lucky enough to leave with only a mild concusion and some scrapes and bruies and NO broken bones! Hes doing really good and we are all so blessed to still have him here with us today. love ya jermey! ♥ some miracle, huh?

  1. Oh wow! What a awful/then wonderful experience. Your poor sister, I can only imagine how awful she must have felt. I'm glad he is okay.
